Children’s Ministry
Called by God to teach, build relationships with, and care for all children, we are enthusiastically committed to our various ministries with children and their families.
During the School Year (September - May)
Sunday School Classes are Biblically based and use various teaching methods to help ever y child learn about Jesus Christ. The classes meet Sundays 9:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday school classes are for children age three years through fifth grade (sixth - twelfth grade are involved in Youth Sunday School). Children’s Classes meet in the Preschool building at the South end of the church and in the Elementary Classrooms beneath the Sanctuary.
LOGOS
GPC offers a Wednesday night program called LOGOS. This is a fun-filled evening which combines worship, fellowship and activities. LOGOS is for those four years old through twelfth grade. LOGOS is the name used to represent a unique system of Christian nurture and ministry. LOGOS literally means "The Word". In John 1:1-18 LOGOS is translated “Word”; “In the beginning was the Word... and the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us...” The LOGOS Program is one way of experiencing the living Christ.
The goal of the LOGOS program is to develop and nurture Christian relationships through a variety of arenas. LOGOS meets at Germantown Presbyterian Church Wednesday evenings from 4:45 to 7:00 p.m. as part of the Wednesday Night Offerings for the entire congregation. Each Wednesday is a different theme.
Children’s Choir meet from 4:45 - 5:30 p.m.
Dinner is served at 5:30 p.m.
Club D (discipleship study and activities) is 6:15 - 7:00 p.m.
The LOGOS program is committed to teaching Christian values while making the process fun for the children. Please email Kelle Wesson at Kellew@germantownpres.org with any questions.
At all meals we have fresh carrots, celery, cucumber and ranch dressing in addition to hot vegetables. We will also have a “house salad” available at every meal.
Volunteers
Children’s Ministry is run completely by volunteers. Our volunteers teach Sunday morning classes from ages three years old to fifth grade. They participate in LOGOS as table parents‚ Bible teachers‚ craft leaders‚ recreation leaders‚ helping with setup for food and tables and so much more! The Children’s Education Committee is lead by volunteers also. Thank you so much for volunteering with the kids of GPC!
We would love to get you plugged in to Children’
s Ministry. There is a place for you! If you would like more information about Children’
s Ministry at GPC, please contact Director of Children’
s Ministries Kelle Wesson.
