#LocalFocus – novel. bookstore

May 21, 2020

Every week GPC highlights local businesses that may be struggling & need some support. We’re putting info in the weekly eblast and posting on social media. If you know of any, please email the communications department at the church here.

(from the novel. website) In February of 2017, our city lost a beloved institution seeing The Booksellers at Laurelwood close its doors in a spot that had been a home for independent bookselling for over 30 years. That could have been the end of the story, but it most definitely was not. The community spoke up loud and clear and told us this was not okay. Roughly 3 months later, the doors opened on the next chapter of independent bookselling in Memphis. In all the time that there has been a bookstore on this site, this is the first time it has been entirely locally owned and operated.

You can shop online (https://www.novelmemphis.com/), you can even have a bookseller shop with you on the phone (901-922-5526). They offer curbside pick-up (387 Perkins Extd.) AND delivery to your house! Go to their website here and see everything they offer – books, magazines, games, puzzles, candles, crafts, and tons more as well as unique items from local and regional artists (you can find those here).

Help support this local institution.

You can visit their website here:  novel.

The bookstore also houses a restaurant called Libro which is offering curbside pick-up.
You can find the Libro menu here.
