PRAYER

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing

The Prayer Ministry of Germantown Presbyterian Church has the mission of telling the Good News of the power of prayer in old ways and new ways. This is done by developing and implementing various classes, guides, and ministries to help all age groups in the church and community to learn more about prayer, and by providing opportunities for people to pray.

The Apostle Paul tells us, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances.” (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18a) What does that mean to us in our lives today?

There are three Components of the Prayer Ministry: Education, Link to Ministry, and Congregation.

EDUCATION

Education involves exploring old and new ways of understanding prayer and praying and educating the congregation about them through classes, retreats, pamphlets, articles, etc.

LINK TO MINISTRY

Link to Ministry integrates prayer and transforms existing ministries, programs, and meetings throughout the church.

CONGREGATION

Congregation assists in focusing on prayer throughout all facets of life: families praying together; being more conscious of continual communion with God; being more aware of God’s messages.
