GPC Youth Ministry
GPC Youth Ministry exists to open a welcoming and safe environment for youth to engage in their faith in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, creating a deep, grounded relationship with God the Father. Through the teachings of the Bible we provide opportunities to instill confidence in faith, cultivate a desire to serve, and encourage active participation in Christian community.
GPC Youth Ministry has three different Sunday school programs:
Junior High: We encourage our sixth and seventh graders to have an in-depth look at the stories of Scripture. They also learn and memorize the Lord’s Prayer.
Confirmation: We want our eighth graders to be able to claim their faith as their own, to know what they believe, and how to put their faith in to action. This class also learns about the polity, theology, and worship of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Senior High: We challenge our ninth through twelfth graders to live out their faith in everyday life. Building on what they learned in confirmation, they continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world. We want them to be able to solidify their faith before going to college.
We have several opportunities to gather as a community outside of Sunday morning:
Junior High Youth Group: On Sunday nights from 4:30-6:00pm the 6th-8th graders enjoy a time of fellowship together. We explore God’s Word and learn how it relates to being in middle school. Together we share a meal with the Senior High Youth group from 6:00-6:30pm.
Senior High Youth Group: On Sunday nights from 6:30-8:00pm the 9th-12th graders enjoy a time of, fellowship together. We explore God’s Word and learn how it relates to being in high school.
Compass for Youth: On Wednesday nights during the school year youth grades 6th-12th are invited to share a meal together and fellowship from 6:00-7:00pm at various restaurants in the Germantown area.
- Our ministry exists to create a warm, welcoming, and safe environment for middle school and high school aged youth to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ so that may create a deep, grounded relationship with God the Father. Our program is designed to instill confidence in faith, cultivate a desire to serve, and encourage active participation in Christian community.
Our number one goal at GPC is to share Christ with students, and to help them grow as disciples in truth and love. What that ends up looking like is a lot of fun and the forming of deep relationships. Whether it is our weekly youth group, Sunday school, various trips and camps, or service projects and missions, there is a place for everyone, and we always have a fun and memorable time.
