GPC YOUTH MINISTRY
Growing together in Christ
GPC Youth Ministry exists to open a welcoming and safe environment for youth to engage in their faith in Jesus Christ through the Holy Spirit, creating a deep, grounded relationship with God the Father. Through the teachings of the Bible we provide opportunities to instill confidence in faith, cultivate a desire to serve, and encourage active participation in Christian community.
Currently GPC youth is not meeting onsite. To find out about future youth events and how to plug your student in, email us here.
Germantown Presbyterian Church worships through scripture, prayer, music, and fellowship. Christian education is vital to children, youth, and adults of all ages. Church groups, small and large, build faith and relationships within the congregation. Through ministry outreach, God’s work is done in Germantown, Memphis and around the world. Opportunities are provided to translate faith into action, from the governing Session and Diaconate to church committees and programs that offer volunteer and learning opportunities for every member of the congregation.
GPC Youth Ministry has three different Sunday morning programs:
Junior High: We encourage our sixth and seventh graders to have an in-depth look at the stories of Scripture. They also learn and memorize the Lord’s Prayer.
Confirmation: We want our eighth graders to be able to claim their faith as their own, to know what they believe, and how to put their faith in to action. This class also learns about the polity, theology, and worship of the Presbyterian Church (USA).
Senior High: We challenge our ninth through twelfth graders to live out their faith in everyday life. Building on what they learned in confirmation, they continue to be the hands and feet of Jesus in the world. We want them to be able to solidify their faith before going to college.
We have several opportunities to gather as a community outside of Sunday morning:
Junior and Senior High Youth Group: On Sunday nights from 4:30-6:30pm the youth all meet together and enjoy a time of fellowship together. We explore God’s Word and learn how it relates to being in middle and high school. Together we share a meal from 6:00-6:30pm.
