Memphis-born and Nashville-raised, Jay feels deeply blessed and privileged to serve the Lord at GPC. He has been a part of this congregation since August 2012, serving as Associate Pastor for Discipleship and Mission.
Jay began to feel God’s pull on his life in high school in Nashville, and later in college, he felt a continued pull to seminary and ministry. After spending time in Georgia, Argentina, and New Jersey, Jay was excited to come back to Tennessee to serve at GPC.
He has been blessed to be called to serve with the GPC community, and he is passionate about seeing the congregation grow in the grace of Christ in faith, knowledge, and service and embody that grace through faithful, missional presence in the community.
Jay, a member of the Presbytery of the Mid-South, also serves on the presbytery’s Permanent Judicial Commission (Clerk), the Campus Ministry Committee (Chair), and the Presbytery Transition Team.
When not preparing a Bible Study or spending time with one of our mission partners, Jay enjoys running into people at coffee houses, college football, playing guitar, spending time with his wife Frances and new son Jack, and enduring the antics of their five-year-old black lab.
