Rev. Susan Carter Wiggins is an ordained Minister/Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA). Since September 2013, she has been serving as Transitional Senior Pastor / Head of Staff for First Presbyterian, Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Prior to that call, she served as Chaplain Resident at Baptist Health in Little Rock, AR, while also serving the Presbytery of Arkansas as a pulpit supply pastor, preaching in over twenty-five congregations across the state of Arkansas. Rev. Wiggins serves the greater church through her work at both the presbytery level and the national level, co-moderating the Disaster Preparedness & Response Sub-Committee for the Presbytery of Arkansas. She is currently serving in her fourth year on the Leadership Team of the Advocacy Committee for Women’s Concerns (ACWC) for the PC(USA). In June she will serve as the ACWC’s corresponding member to the Office of General Assembly at the 222nd General Assembly of the PC(USA) in Portland, OR.
Rev. Wiggins, who goes by Susie, is a licensed associate marriage and family therapist (LAMFT). Rev. Wiggins earned both her Master of Divinity and Master of Marriage and Family Therapy at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has continuing education work in conflict resolution and church leadership. Prior to seminary, she worked in management in the television and radio broadcasting industry in Little Rock for over twenty years. Prior to that, she worked in the pharmaceutical industry for Schering-Plough.
Pastor Susie is passionate about building and nurturing relationships and helping to foster a sense of wholeness – body, mind, and soul – among individuals, families, church families, and communities. She is also a devoted advocate for women and girls and in helping them to find their voices. She is the mother of two adult children and three amazing grandchildren, who are the absolute joy of her life, and she is the widow of Ralph J. Wiggins, whose memory is a blessing. Pastor Susie is thrilled that the Holy Spirit of God has led her to Germantown Presbyterian Church and about the multiple opportunities to serve the Lord our God in new and exciting ways right here!
