Rev. Susan Carter Wiggins is an ordained Minister/Teaching Elder in the Presbyterian Church (USA) and serves Germantown Presbyterian as the Associate Pastor for Congregational Care and Nurture. Prior to joining the GPC family in 2016, Rev. Wiggins served as Transitional Senior Pastor / Head of Staff for First Presbyterian, Pine Bluff, Arkansas for three years, and prior to that call, she served as a Chaplain Resident at Baptist Health in Little Rock, AR, while also serving the Presbytery of Arkansas as a pulpit supply pastor, preaching in over twenty-five congregations across the state of Arkansas. Rev. Wiggins expands her service to the larger church by serving on presbytery committees, such as the Executive Presbyter Nominating Committee and the Minutes Review Committee. From 2012-2020, she served on the Advocacy Committee for Women’s Concerns of the PC(USA) with three of those years on the Leadership Team. In 2016 and 2018, Rev. Wiggins served as the Corresponding Member to the Office of General Assembly for the ACWC, thus being responsible for being the primary voice for women and girls in plenary discussions at the PC(USA)’s biannual General Assemblies. She is also an alumni of Leadership Greater Little Rock and Leadership Germantown.

Rev. Wiggins, who goes by Susie, is also licensed associate marriage and family therapist (LAMFT). She earned both her Master of Divinity and Master of Marriage and Family Therapy at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, and she holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Arts from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. She has continuing education work in Conflict Resolution, Church Leadership, and Transitional Ministry. Prior to seminary, she worked in management in the television and radio broadcasting industry in Little Rock for over twenty years.

During her tenure at GPC, the Holy Spirit of God, has and continues to, indwell, and inspire Pastor Susie with new, innovative, creative ways of connecting with everyone at GPC, in the community, and beyond. The Belonging Ministry, Friends in Christ, Circles of Care, and “Porch Visits / Flower Deliveries” are some of the ministries that have come to fruition through her leadership. She gives all credit to the Holy Spirit who seems to enjoy awakening her at around 3:00 a.m. with new ideas often!

Rev. Wiggins (aka Pastor Susie) is passionate about building and nurturing relationships and helping to foster a sense of wholeness – body, mind, and soul – among individuals, families, church families, and communities. She is also a devoted advocate for women and girls and in helping them to find their voice, and possibly seeing themselves called to ministry, too. She is the mother of two adult children and three amazing grandchildren, who are the absolute joy of her life.
