Pickleball’s unique blend of fun, fitness, and social interaction has contributed to its widespread appeal. The rules are simple, and the game is easy for beginners to learn, but can develop into a fast-paced, competitive game. There’s a reason so many players get hooked on this sport – it’s easy to start, but hard to stop.
One of the appealing aspects of Pickleball is its accessibility. The sport is suitable for individuals of varying fitness levels and backgrounds, making it an inclusive and inviting activity. Pickleball can be enjoyed indoors or outdoors and is commonly played in doubles, fostering a sense of camaraderie and community on the court.
Many churches offer pickleball in their gyms to bring people together, including members who might not normally know each other. This month marks our two-year anniversary of having all the equipment to play ready for you in GPC’s Activity Center.
What do you need to get started? Find gym hours available for times to play here. Also we recommend that you contact one of the GPC Pickleball Committee members (Mike Lyle, Paula Hopkins, Lori Harding, Wendy Holmes, Elizabeth Powell, Jill Crocker, Cathy Borden, and Linda Oakes) to become a member of a simple app (Group Me) to learn about upcoming lessons and communications from your GPC family to find out when others are meeting to play.
