Youth Ministry Position

The Director of Youth Ministry (DYM) works with the youth of the church in their development of a relationship with Christ and in their relationships with one another in the body of Christ, providing them with the faithful methods (prayer, Scripture study, & service) of abiding discipleship.

The DYM provides faithful mentoring and leadership to the youth, volunteers, and parents, in consultation with the Faith Formation Team (which oversees discipleship programs for children, youth, and adults).  The DYM will work hand in hand with the support team for youth to achieve the goals of the Youth Ministry.  The DYM reports to the Pastor for Faith Formation.

Requirements:

  • A grounded and growing relationship with God through Jesus Christ and a devotional, working knowledge of Scripture.
  • An outgoing personality that demonstrates an eagerness for working with both Middle School and High School Youth.
  • A “team player” who desires to develop professional and collegial relationships with staff and other youth professionals in our area.
  • Creativity and a desire to try new ideas and programming.
  • An understanding of the church as a workplace including having Sunday as the primary day of working and interacting with youth and families.
  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
